Solid thick bangs will shorten the face and make it look chubby. Long textured bangs swept to the side would look much more flattering and overall more versatile

side bangs unless you have a widows peak (which means you would not suit a fringe)

ps a widows peak is like a triangle of hair in the centre of you hairline
