My father in his young age had long, frizzy hair and in my opinion could of been curls if he had looked after them (or rather himself) propely. Some of my aunts have curly hair too.
But all my life I have had thick, frizzy hair (I cannot straighten it at all) - could it be I have natural curls? or was I just born unluckily with a mop for a head. Sometimes if i wash my hair and its wet it has that kind of 'scrunched up' look.
How do I found out if I have natural curls???? Please help
Thank you - happy new year!
Could It be I have 'Natural' curly hair???
Based on the genetics you probably have naturally curly hair. There are certain hair cuts that can probably make your hair more curly than frizzy. Talk to a hairstylist about it and see what they have to say. Most likely they will have some good ideas.

Try some hair care products for curly hair. If I don't use them my hair turns to frizz.

after the shower, put gel or mousse in it and see what it does... my hair was the same way for a while in middle school, then i tried gel and it was curly and it stayed.

Well if you have natural curly hair you can't brush it, because if you do brush it wont look good. Don't brush your curly hair unless you are going to wash it. Just wash your hair and let it dry then you will know if your hair is naturally curly or not.

If your father has curly hair and your mother has straight hair, then technically you would have "wavy" hair. It's called incomplete dominance. Both curly and straight alleles (or what most people call "genes") are being expressed.
Ask a hair stylist what you could do to make your hair less frizzy and more curly.

The trick to wearing your hair curly is cutting lots and lots of layers. You also have to take care of it if you want curls and not frizz - use curl defining shampoo and conditioner, heat protector/leave in conditioner and mouse or putty works much better than gel which can dry your hair out and get crunchy. Let your hair air dry or blow-dry it using a diffuser. You might want to define the curl on the top layers a bit with a thin curling iron depending on how much curl you have. Long bangs ironed straight and swept back look really nice and modern with curly hair. Parting on the side with a zig zag pattern looks best too.
