With curly hair what would make it look better. Should I let it air-dry or should I blow dry it, or does it not matter?

If you are going to use any product, such as something to tame any frizz, apply it while your hair is wet. Then let it air dry or blow dry it using a diffuser and low heat until it is almost though not completely dry. After that try not to touch your hair or it will loosen the curl and cause frizz.

Air-dry, or blow dry with a diffuser. If you blow dry it without the diffuser, then your hair will be nothing but frizz.

How to dry curly hair?

I have curly hair and this is my process:

1. brush hair when soaking wet

2. Put up in towel for 5 minutes and do something else (or however long that something takes)

3. Undo hair

4. Flip dry

5. Apply Anti-Frizz Creme to hair thoroughly

6. "Scrunch" hair with Creme in hair

7. You can stop here and let your hair "air-dry" or you can dry it with a hair dryer WITH a diffuser

I air dry mine because curly hair tends to be more fragile than straight. It is drier and it tangles easier. If you feel like you need to blow dry it , make sure you use a diffuser and a low setting. Use a good hydrating shampoo and conditioner (i use biolage ultra hydrating) and a thermal styling product. Whatever you do, don't use a brush on it unless you want it really bushy. Just kind of scrunch it with your fingers to help form the curls.

It's better to let it air-dry most of the time. When you are in a hurry you can blow dry following instructions below.

Steps

If your hair naturally curly, you should STOP washing it with shampoos that contain sodium laureth/lauryl %26amp; ammonium laureth/lauryl sulfate, they dry out the hair terribly, making your hair puffier, and bigger.

Use a wide toothed comb to detangle hair when wet.

Use a good moisturzing conditioner.

If you can, try not to use silicones, they build up on the hair, and you need sufates to remove them, which dry out your hair. Any ingredient that ends in -cone or -xane is a silicone.

Use a a diffuser if you blow dry your hair.

Warnings

Don't put the blow dryer on high because sometimes the diffuser will pop off and could hit your head. Always use the warm or cool setting

If you do shampoo, use ones with ingredients like these: Apricotamidopropyl Betaine and Cocoamidapropyl Betaine. Activate makes a good one.

DON'T TOUCH YOUR HAIR WHILE IT'S DRYING!

Tips

Don't flat iron your hair, it's one of the worst things you can do!

If you want your curls to look a little looser, try putting a clip at then end of it while it dries, it weighs it down.

Try getting the book, "Curly Girl" by Lorriane Massey, it's excellent.
