What's an easy to manage hairstyle for thick frizzy/curly hair?

I did have my hair really long and I chopped it all off recently. Now I need to figure out what to do with it. My hair is very thick and frizzy or curly or wavy depending on the weather. Right now it is shoulder length with a couple layers in it (oops. It was a botch job I did myself. Luckily they are not too short. They are still below the ears anyway.) I need a very low maintenance style that I can wear curly, and still looks good if I straighten it. I am not a big fan of thinning my hair. It doesn't go well. Color ideas are helpful too.

I have thick hair, too. I agree, thinning it is counter-intuitive. I want to have thick, curly hair, not thin wisps of hair at the end!

My haircut is the same length if I'm upside down. The stylist cut it that way so that the curls can sit on top of each other basically.

u could put a mousse or gel in ur hair and then bow dry with a diffuser. itll look really pretty. for the frizz u could use biosilk. for a hair color i would need to see the color of ur skin. well hope i helped.

use a 100% boar bristle roundbrush...it will smooth your hair (while you blow-dry it) without damaging it like a straitener will....there are tons of products for "firz-away" or "smooth-down" things like that that mostly work well.
