Applying highlights on my own with curly hair?

I have naturally curly hair which I seldomly straighten. I'm going to be applying some red hightlights on my own..

Those are the highlights I will be using, and I was wondering if anyone had some tips for me on how to do it without messing it up. My hair is also layered, if that helps.

well honestly i think you should start my dyeing you layerd parts first you know under the top hair so in case you do mess up it wont be that noticeablehttp://s233.photobucket.com/mediadetail/... maybe your hair is not like that but if you see how her highlights are noticeable but very low on showing if they were messed up
